N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A standoff between Jamestown Police and a man threatening suicide with a gun ended peacefully Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to apartments at 1510 11th Avenue Northeast for a man who reportedly had a gun. A councilor with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Fargo contacted Stutsman County and said she was on the phone with a man threatening suicide. Enforcement Officials evacuated the apartment building and blocked the area off to the public.

The man was taken into custody after about an hour and was taken to the North Dakota State Hospital for evaluation. The man is unidentified at this time and no charges have been filed as of this morning.
