CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A New Paradigm is a class being offered by ON THE MOVE. It will be held Monday, January 12 from 7:00-8:00 pm at the Hi-Liner Activity Center lobby, Valley City Public Schools, across the street east of the courthouse.
Erin Klingenberg, Director of Counseling Services and Psychology Professor at VCSU will be the instructor and will share fascinating information on this topic.
Is the “fight or flight” response a male thing? Is “tend and befriend” a female thing? Research indicates that there is room for both. Female stress response appears to be biological, cultural, and situational. Male responses appear to be regulated by testosterone.
This class will be an opportunity to increase awareness of our stress responses as well as how others may respond to stress. Having the awareness may aid in supporting others as well as decreasing stress in one’s personal and/or professional life.
Klingenberg is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of ND as well as a National Certified Counselor.
Teachers will be able to count this 1 hour session towards their Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Through the many ON THE MOVE classes teachers would be able to get 15 hours which will count as one graduate credit.
The class is free to all ON THE MOVE members and $5 for non-members. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information about ON THE MOVE or to join, go to the website www.barnesonthemove.org or phone 845-6456.
