CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) It will be the largest capital funding request in the history of Valley City State University during this year North Dakota Legislative session.
Valley City State President Tisa Mason says the lion’s share of the more than $40 million dollar request will be for a fine arts center and a new heating plant.
State senator Larry Robinson says Foss Music Hall will have to be razed to make room for a permanent flood protection project once a new fine arts center is built.
Robinson says MaCarthy Hall the current home of the Communication Center will also be razed under this proposal and the new center will move into the new fine arts center once construction is completed.
These requests will be pending in this year’s legislative session which begins Tuesday, January 6.
