CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) For the third time in a week and a half, the Valley City State basketball teams picked up a sweep inside W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse. The Viking women remain a perfect 5-0 on their home court with a 83-30 win over Crown College. The men advanced to 5-1 at the bubble knocking off the men’s Storm team 92-61.

The women, once again, used a solid second half, in which they outscored the Storm 47-8. Leading the way on the stat sheet for the Vikings was Georgia Williams, who had a game high 17 points in the win. Three other VCSU players finished with in double digits including, Steph Pederson (11) Sierra Even (15) and Paige Meyer (10).
The Vikings women are now 6-4 on the year. Their next game is on the road at Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday night. The match up can be heard on 1490 KOVC starting at 6:45pm.
Men: Valley City State 92 Crown College 61
It was the third straight win for the men, who looked like a brad news team after shooting just 25% from the field in the opening half against Johnson and Wales. In Monday nights game against Crown College, the Vikings drained 48% of their shots.
Mac Kroeplin had a career day with 23 points against the Storm. Under the basket, Quinton Peterson calmed the storm with 11 points and six rebounds. Freshman Briton Bussman made the most of his night at the free throw line knocking down 8 of 9 shots from the charity stripe on his way to 14 points.
The Viking play again on Saturday when they host the University of Winnipeg at 6:30pm. That game can be heard on 1490 KOVC after the completion of the Valley City High School boys basketball game.
