N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two men are injured following a DUI crash that occurred roughly three miles West of Fessenden, North Dakota around 8:43 AM Sunday morning.
35 year-old Erik Blume of Baxter, Minnesota was traveling eastbound on Highway 52 when he lost control of his pickup on ice, causing him to slide into the westbound lane in front of a semi. The semi, driven by 70 year-old Garry Byers of Spruce Home, Saskatchewan, was hauling a mobile home.
Blume’s pickup was separated in half, coming to rest in a ditch. Byers semi became disabled and came to rest in the North ditch. Both men were transported to a Harvey hospital and treated for their injuries. Byers was later transported by helicopter to Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Charges are pending against Blume.
