(NewsDakota.com) Area high school thespians did quite well at the 2014 State Class B One-Act Play Contest last week in Jamestown.
LaMoure High School’s presentation of “Once Upon A Playground” won fourth place, while Oakes High’s performance of “The Terezin Promise” earned fifth place.
Lisbon’s Xanthe Dick, Carrington’s Billy Holtan, Oakes’ Trace Beethe and LaMoure’s Ensemble were honored with Superior Actor Awards.
Each school qualified for State from one of ten regions statewide with contest held in early to mid November. Schools participating were: Beulah, Burke County, Carrington, Central Cass, Drake-Anamoose, Glenburn, Harvey-Wells County, Kindred, LaMoure, Lisbon, New Rockford-Sheyenne, Oakes, Park River, Ray, Richardton-Taylor, Rugby, Shiloh Christian, Thompson, Washburn, and Wyndmere.
Washburn High School won the State Championship.
