(NewsDakota.com) – Temperatures were at 16 degrees for kickoff Saturday at Rollie Greeno Field as the Jimmie football team play their final game of the season. They welcomed in the Dickinson State Blue Hawks, who escaped with a 28-21. The loss ends Jamestown’s season at 5-5.
The Hawks scored the first 14 points of the game on the only two completions Kaler Ray had in the first half. Ray’s first scoring strike was a 59-yarder to Austin Brown and the second went to JT Keith who jumped over Jimmie CB Devin Arnold to snare a 29-yard touchdown.
But the Jimmies were able to respond with two second quarter touchdown passes from Beau Eriksson to Gavin Farley to tie the game at 14. The score remained tied into the fourth quarter before Dickinson turned their offense over to Jesse Carney.
On two fourth quarter drives Carney carried the ball every snap on the way to a pair of touchdowns. He capped a 70-yard drive with a 41-yard touchdown that broke the tie and later finished a 49-yard drive to extend the lead.
Jamestown scored on an Eriksson to Alex Johnson touchdown in the final minute, but couldn’t recover the onside kick.
