N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As part of National Co-Op month, Northern Plains Electric Cooperative and Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative have been collecting cans and coats to donate to families in need.

Five seniors from Pingree-Buchanan schools have been helping collect and clean the items. The two Co-op groups then collected the items after they had been cleaned and distributed them to families that needed them in the area. The seniors have been busy this month. Apart from washing the coats they had received, they spent their time collecting non-perishable food and personal hygiene items to donate as well.

The seniors donated so many items, the space inside of the Northern Plains building could not hold all of them. All items raised during the month of October has been donated to area families.
