CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Grand Opening of the new Interstate 94 Regional Development Corridor was held today in Valley City.
Valley City Mayor Bob Werkhoven says the completion of this project will help expand our economic opportunities for years to come.

Barnes County Commissioner Phil Leitner says the partnership with John Deere Seeding along with the strong community support with the National Guard will continue a positive collaborative spirit to help the county grow in the future.

Valley Development Corporation board president Paige Bjornson says this two year project is about working together and forming strategic partnerships with a common vision to capitalize on an economic development to benefit the community in the future.

North Dakota DOT Director Grant Levi says historic transportation investments are being made across the state and this effort by the community will help meet the transportation needs of this area.

North Dakota National Guard Colonel Scott Boesplug says the community has had a strong tie the National Guard for decades. He says construction on the new 30,000 square foot National Guard facility will start in the summer of 2015.
The $3.2 million dollar project in Valley City was funded using federal, state, county and city monies.
Border States Paving Company of Jamestown and Paras Contracting of Fargo were the main contractors on this paving project for the new I-94 frontage road in Valley City.
