JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As outside temperatures drop and winter approaches, residents will begin using furnaces, fireplaces, wood burns or any other means of maintaining heat.
Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Ruether wants Jamestown residents to know that now is the best time to have fuel burning appliances checked to make sure carbon monoxide detectors are working properly. Carbon Monoxide is often called the “silent killer” and is a gas you cannot see, taste, or smell. It can be created when fuel does not burn properly.
