N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Bureau of Reclamation has completed two of its projects that had the downstream area of Jamestown dam and access roads closed off for public safety.

A replacement concrete drain was installed on the east downstream side of the dame, and a replacement sub surface drain was installed on the west wingwall of the spillway works. The Bureau is also planning on conducting maintenance in the Jamestown Dam outlet works over the next several weeks. Work is scheduled to begin October 14th and will take about two weeks.

Releases from the Jamestown Dam will be shut off and the Ice House Dam gates will be opened to lower the James River water level to help facilitate the work. Winter elevation target is 1429.8 feet or below. The current elevation of the reservoir is at an elevation of 1429.35.
