D.C. (NewsDakota.com) U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp says more than 0,000 in federal funding to develop and implement innovative programs to provide dental health professionals to underserved populations and areas across North Dakota is now available.
Heitkamp say “Many folks in rural North Dakota don’t have access to dental care, or can’t afford the routine checkups that are a critical, yet underrated, component of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. These funds will provide under served residents, such as those in rural and Native American communities, with improved access to quality oral health care.”
And Senator John Hoeven says “We are working hard to improve health care across North Dakota, especially ensuring that the more rural and underserved areas of the state have access to quality care,” Hoeven added “This HHS grant will help ensure our residents have more access to dentists and other oral health providers.”
These funds are authorized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and will be given to the North Dakota State Department of Health.
The funds will support innovative programs to address the oral health needs of underserved areas and provide more dental health professionals to meet the need.
