H. Henne, 88, Jamestown, ND died Sunday night, July 13, 2014 at the St. Catherine’s Care Center in Wahpeton, ND.
Clarence Henne was born August 18, 1925 at Alfred, ND, the son of Gottfried Henne and Dorothea (Fode) Henne. He received his education at the country school in the area and helped on the family farm.
He was drafted into the US Army on May 21, 1945 at Jefferson Barracks, MO and served in WWII. He was honorably discharged with the rank of PVT on November 10, 1945 at Camp Wolters, TX.
He and Joyce Nitschke were married February 12, 1947 at Alfred, ND. The made their home in Alfred where he took over the family farm. He left Alfred in 1972 and purchased the Remboldt Implement IHC equipment and changed its name to Henne Implement and operated it for 9 years. He then began Henne TV and Appliance for 6 years. In 1991 he moved to Jamestown, ND and worked for the TSC store for 7 years.
He and Edna Anderson were married November 27, 1992 at Jamestown, ND and made their home there. Following the death of his wife in in 2006, he continued to reside in Jamestown until 2011 when he moved to Wahpeton, ND.
He is survived by his children, LaVerne Henne, Valley City, ND, Arnold (Dee) Henne, Batavia, IL; Lester (Bobbie) Henne, Glendive, MT; DuWayne Henne, Jamestown, ND; Sandra (Frank) Kaufman, Rapid City, SD; Hubert Henne, Wahpeton, ND; Randy (Angie) Henne, Montpelier, ND, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 6 step-granchildren, 20, step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, Nathaniel, Edna Netzer, Esther Metz, Ida Nitschke, Erwin Henne, and Lawrence.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Friday July 18, 2014 at the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.
The interment will be made at the Alfred Cemetery in Alfred, ND.
Visitation: 9-8 Thursday at Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown. Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
