(NewsDakota.com) For the second time this season, the Oakes Post 36 American Legion baseball team had quite an offensive onslaught of Ellendale; this time defeating Post 137 15-0 in five innings on Tuesday night.
Oakes registered 15 hits in the contest, and only allowed a single hit to Ellendale; Post 137 had just two base runners, and neither reached second base. In the two games played between the clubs, Oakes has outscored Ellendale 25-0.
Jon Tyre earned the win, going two innings, allowing the lone Ellendale hit. Mike and Cole Kelly each registered a two-out two RBI double.
Oakes is now 8-4 in the Southeast Region, while Ellendale stands at 2-10. Oakes will host Lidgerwood Post 84 on Friday at Cummings Field. Coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com will start around 5:45 p.m. with first pitch near 6 p.m.
