CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Police say 92-year-old Rita Weber of Valley City has died of injuries she suffered after she was struck by a pickup a week ago in Valley City.
According to a news release issued by the Valley City police department, Weber passed away on Monday, June 30.

On June 22, 32-year-old Robert J. Mittleider was northbound on Central Avenue north when he made a left turn onto 6th Street northwest. Police say Mittleider failed to see Weber walking across the street on the crosswalk and struck her with his vehicle. Weber was being treated in a Fargo Hospital since the accident on June 22.

Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson says an investigation at the scene concluded that neither alcohol nor speed was a factor in the accident.

Thompson says the incident remains under investigation and anyone with additional information is asked to contact the police department at 845-3110.
