N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A West Fargo man was killed Saturday, June 21st after the bike he was riding was struck by a motor vehicle.

50 year old David Hawkinson was traveling South on Traill County 81 about one mile North of Grandin. 26 year old Justin Jalbert of Hunter, ND was also traveling South. Jalbert was traveling faster than Hawkinson and struck the rear tire of his bike. Hawkinson was thrown from the bicycle and sustained fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, but distracted driving is believed to have contributed to the accident.
