Central Valley Health and the North Dakota Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control Policy are working together to raise awareness of secondhand smoking in apartments. Secondhand Smoking is particularly dangerous to children, elderly and people with chronic health conditions. According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control, North Dakota has 24 percent of residents that are living in apartments and are continually exposed to secondhand smoke.
