(NewsDakota.com) Out of the numerous uncontested races across North Dakota in Tuesday’s June Primary election, there are two that are noteworthy in Dickey County.

The first is the race for the county’s sheriff. Chris Estes, Lance Kolhmeyer and Scott Peterson are on the ballot to succeed Jim Bohannon, who has been Sheriff since 1994 and is not seek re-election. The two men with the highest vote totals will run against each other in the general election in November.

Two men are running for mayor of Ellendale. Don Flaherty is running for another term and is being challenged by Matthew Thorpe.

Dickey County has three precincts: Oakes, Ellendale and Fullerton. Polls are open countywide from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday
