(NewsDakota.com) – For the 7th time this season the WDA regular season champion Jamestown Blue Jay golf team finished second in a meet. The WDA meet was held at the Jamestown Country Club, but the home course advantage wasn’t enough to push the Jays over the top.

Minot won the meet with a 317, while Jamestown finished with a 319. The Jays won the regular season title, the first in school history, despite not winning a tournament but carding the lowest scoring average in the nine events.

Brandon Stahlhut’s 77 was good enough for a third-place tie, he finished five strokes back of Mandan’s Colton Murphy. No Jamestown golfer scored in the 90s, which made them the only team without a score north of 90.

Nick Stockert also took home all-WDA honors with a 78. Nick Blaskowski and Austin Rene each finished with an 82.

The state tournament is June 3rd and 4th back at the Jamestown Country Club.
