(NewsDakota.com) – It was banner finish to an illustrious career that now includes three state championships for Jamestown senior McKayla Orr. On the final day of state track, the Blue Jay sprinter added titles in the 300m and 100m hurdles to her volleyball state championship to put a cap on her career.
Orr is headed to the University of Jamestown to play basketball for the Jimmies. She won the 300m hurdles with relative ease knocking off 2013 state champion Chelsea Peterson, but the 100m was a little closer. The athletes did not know the winner for 10 minutes following a photo finish between Peterson and Orr, but in the end Orr was named the champion. She also helped the 4×100 relay team to a second place finish.
WDA javelin champion Jenna Stilwell finished second at the state meet with a throw of 122’5″. She needed that throw on her third attempt to get into the finals and it stuck as her best throw of the day.
Noah Wanzek grabbed a fifth place finish in the triple jump. Taylor Orr finished seventh in the 100m hurdles.
