N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Captain Brandon Solberg was promoted to Major and became the Highway Patrol’s chief of staff replacing Major David Kleppe who retired in April after 31 years of distinguished service.

Major Solberg began his career with the Highway Patrol in January 1999 by attending the NDHP academy. Solberg worked as a trooper until being promoted to sergeant in 2005. In 2007, Solberg became a lieutenant until his next promotion to captain in 2011. Solberg was promoted to the rank of major in May.

Retired Major Kleppe began his career with the NDHP in 1983 by attending the academy. He was promoted to sergeant in 1989, captain in 1995, and major in 2011. Kleppe served as the chief of staff until his retirement in April.
