(NewsDakota.com)  The Carrington Fire Department was called out last night to a fire about a ½ mile east of the Grace Lutheran Church in Carrington.  When fire crews arrived, they found out that slightly too much accelerant (gas) was used to start a burn pit; the flare up shook a few windows and sent a fire ball in the air.  No injuries were reported, 24 men and five trucks responded.  The Fire Department did not intervene as the fire was contained in the pit upon arrival.

Also the Carrington Fire Department would like to thank everybody for attending the annual Arnold Schroeder/Jim Dunn Memorial Benefit Spaghetti feed last night at the Fire Hall.  Although there are no official numbers for attendance yet, the donations ranked very high.
