Donald Boyle, 90, Jamestown, ND, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at his home under hospice care.

    Donald James Boyle was born April 1, 1924 on the family farm in Sheldon, ND, the son of Henry and Rose (Law) Boyle. He was raised near Sheldon, ND where he began school. He moved with his family Buchanan, ND where he continued school. He attended Jamestown High School, graduating in 1943. After graduating, he joined the United States Army on April 26, 1946 and served with the 25th Medical Battalion in Osaka, Japan for seven months. Following his discharge on April 22, 1947, he returned to Buchanan, ND where he farmed with his parents and brother, Miles. On September 28, 1955, he married Marie Weninger at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Fargo, ND and they settled in Buchanan, ND. In 1967, they purchased a farm near Sanborn, ND where they lived and farmed until 1990 when they retired and moved to Jamestown, ND.

    Donald was a member of The Basilica of St. James, the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles, the Elks, and the V.F.W.

    Survivors include his wife, Marie, Jamestown, ND and many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Miles; and a sister, Marie Mordwedt.

    Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2014 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND, with Father Al Bitz officiating.

    Vigil: 7:30 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND with a Knights of Columbus Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.

    Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND

    Interment: Buchanan Cemetery, Buchanan, ND.
