CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A semi pulling a flatbed trailer rolled onto its side about 15 miles South of I-94 on Highway 1.
According to North Dakota Highway Patrol Sgt. Tom Herzig, 29 year-old Joshua Thompson of Lisco, Nebraska was traveling Southbound on Highway 1 when a strong Southeast wind with gusts of up to 40 miles per hour caused the vehicle to drift onto the west shoulder. Thompson tried to maintain control, but ended up rolling onto its side.
Total damage to the truck, trailer and load is estimated to be around $150,000. Thompson was wearing his seatbelt and the crash remains under investigation.
