N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s tax commissioner says the deadline is approaching for qualifying low-income senior citizens and disabled persons to file for a partial rent refund. Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger says the deadline for the application is May 31st.
State residents must be 65 years old or older or be totally disabled to be eligible for the Renter’s Refund program. They must also not make more than $42,000 per year, and 20 percent of what they pay annually for rent must exceed 4 percent of their annual income. The maximum amount that can be refunded is $400.
