N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department has seen an increase in citations issued for texting and driving.
During the month of April, Law Agencies in Williston, Bismarck, Minot, Fargo and Jamestown increased the amount of patrols to crack down on drivers that text while driving. According to Jamestown Police Lt. Robert Opp, the Jamestown Police Department has issued 6 citations since the beginning of the year. But, Lt. Opp also stated that the citations have all come during the increased enforcement periods.
“One citation was even issued this morning.” Opp stated.
Drivers caught texting while behind the wheel in North Dakota will be charged with a $100 fine.
