N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their run report for March 28th through April 10th.
According to the report released by Fire Chief Jim Ruther, there were a total of 14 runs this past week. That brings the total number of runs for 2014 to 90. Below is a full list and description of the runs the department responded to.
March 28th, 4:33PM, fire department responded to 607 2nd St SW, Storage Unit, to a report of a fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-juvenile fire play. No injuries reported. Time out 40 minutes.
March 29th, 5:26AM, fire department responded to 1609 Business Loop East, S&R Truck Plaza, to a report of smoke. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-possible electrical problem. No injuries reported. Time out 35 minutes.
March 29th, 9:55Pm, ready squad responded to 155 2nd St SW, Art’s Center, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-unknown. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.
March 31st, 8:23PM, fire department responded to 1st Ave & 1st St N, to a report of a vehicle on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-undetermined. No injuries reported. Time out 55 minutes.
April 5th, 2:06AM, ready squad responded to 1214 10th Ave SE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0 ppm was detected. Cause-unknown. Time out 1 hour.

April 6th, 6:25PM, fire department responded to 1514 6th Ave SW, Multi Family Dwelling, to assist Jamestown Area Ambulance in the removal of a person needing medical attention from a 3rd story structure. No injuries reported. Time out 30 minutes.
April 7th, 4:28PM, ready squad responded to 523 4th Ave SE, Trinity Lutheran Church, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-light ballast. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.
April 8th, 9:57AM, ready squad responded to 1601 5 ½ Ave NE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0 ppm was detected. Cause-detector malfunction. Time out 40 minutes.
April 8th, 7:42PM, ready squad responded to 505 2nd Ave SW Apt #2, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate gas odor. Firefighters checked the structure and detected nothing. The scene was turned over to MDU for further investigation. Time out 35 minutes.
