N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown held their planning commission meeting at 8:00 AM on March 31st. The big agenda item was a zone change for the proposed site of Menards.

A staff report was given by Secretary Wollan with a followed public hearing. No one appeared. Wollan was asked to review the uses permitted in a C-2, General Commercial District. It was questioned if the property owners signed the zone change application. City Administrator Jeff Fuchs stated that it was signed by Jayne Meyer of Liechty Associates, LLP. The move would make the site change from a public, open development to a commercial development.

Main concerns among members of the commission were the width of the dedicated right of way for the roadways. It was noted that these issues would be brought forth when the area is re-platted at a later date. The motion was approved and the item will now be sent forth to the City Council.
