Eleanora D. Jansen, 99, formerly of Adrian, ND, died Thursday March 27, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Mandan, ND.

     Eleanora was born on January 5, 1915, in Lyon County, MN, the daughter of J. William and Frieda (Oetzman) Froehlich.  When Eleanora was an infant her family moved to a farm near Montpelier, ND.  She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1933. She married John H. Jansen on the family farm on October 10th, 1939.  They lived south of Eckelson, ND until 1945 when they moved their farm near Adrian. Elenora and John worked together on the farm until retirement. Elenora continued to live on the farm after John’s death in 1995 until she made her home with Jackie in 2010. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid, the Manns Township Homemakers Club, and the Montpelier Senior Citizens Club.

     Eleanora enjoyed making quilts, one for each child and grandchild, along with crocheting and knitting.  She also played the piano and accordion.

     Eleanora is survived by her children, Dennis (Diana) Jansen of Young, AZ, Bruce (Sandy) Jansen, Adrian, Douglas (Mary) Jansen, Lisbon, ND, Joan (Balzer) Ternes, Center, ND, Joyce (Dennis) Voss, Eleva, WI, Janel Taylor, Devils Lake, ND, and Jacalyn Jansen, Mandan, ND; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers; and one sister and her granddaughter, DeAnne; granddaughter-in-law, Julie; great granddaughter, Alexis Jansen.

     Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Adrian, ND.

     Visitation: None scheduled, as cremation has taken place. Arrangements are in the care of Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

     Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
