Lyle Albert Anderson was born on October 25, 1936 at Valley City, ND to Albert and Hazel (Beetham) Anderson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley City.  He grew up in Oriska, ND and attended school there, graduating from high school in 1956.  After graduation he spent a brief time working in California.  Upon returning to North Dakota, he was employed at NDDOT until 1959, when he entered the US Army.  He was discharged in 1961 and returned to work for NDDOT until retiring in 1999.

     Lyle was united in marriage to Mary Ann Webber on July 27, 1979.  Lyle was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion.

     He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; one son, Justin Anderson, Valley City; two step-children, Sandy Webber, New Hope, MN; Heath (Shannon) Webber, Thompson, ND; one granddaughter, Alexis Thoreson, Valley City; three step-grandchildren, Logan, Garrett, and Cameron Webber, all Thompson, ND; one great grandson, Gavin Thoreson, Valley City.  Lyle is also survived by his sisters, Eleanor (Freeman) Finch, Eugene, OR; Gloria (Roger) Pepke, Winona, MN; Doris (Keith) Teegarden, White Bear Lake, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

     Lyle died Saturday, March, 22, 2014, at Vibra Hospital, Fargo, ND, at the age of 77.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Leona Mahlke and a brother, Earl Anderson.

     Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday, March 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Jolene Knutson-Hanse officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in the spring in Woodbine Cemetery. 

     Visitation will be 4-7 pm Wednesday at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
