N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Cyber criminals are always trying to find different ways to obtain the information they need to get someones information. This time, they’re calling and pretending to be from the Social Security office.

Bank Forward has announced that a scammer explains how they will increase benefits to the victim, but they need to verify information first. They begin by asking for their bank account number, social security number, mother’s maiden name, etc. Bank Forward states that along with legitimate businesses and governmental agencies, they will never call and ask for personal information. Never give out information over the phone and simply hang up.

Bank Forward has also reported that no customers have seen a loss as a result of the scam to date.
