A memorial service for Silas James Aufenkamp will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 22nd at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Valley City with Reverend Kevin Zaun officiating.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the New Life Assembly of God Church.  Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery near Valley City in the spring.           

     Silas James Aufenkamp, the son of Lucas and Jennifer (Peterson) Aufenkamp was born March 16, 2014 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.  Silas was a great son that was described by his nurses as very strong and a fighter.  His short days were filled with love from all of the visits from family and friends.  He will especially be missed by his brothers and sister.  Silas went to receive his eternal reward on March 17, 2014.            

     Silas is survived by his parents, Lucas and Jennifer Aufenkamp; his siblings, Eliab, Malley Jo and Jaben Aufenkamp, all Valley City, ND; his grandparents, Rev. LeRoy and Beverly Aufenkamp, Drayton, ND; Paul and Betty Peterson, Crosby, ND; aunts and uncles, Lindsey (Brandon) Culver, Valley City, ND, Rev. Matthew Aufenkamp, Devils Lake, ND, Nathan Aufenkamp, Costa Mesa, CA, Heidi (Andrew) Peltz, New Salem, ND and Aaron (Stacey) Peterson, Crosby, ND; great-grandparents, Barbara Beckstand, Finley, ND, Dorothy Aufenkamp, Julian, NE, Rev. Norman (Connie) Anderson, Alexandria, MN and Ardis Anderson, Crosby, ND; cousins, Bezalel Culver, Kenedi and Malachi Peltz and Auna and Sonja Peterson.           

     Silas was preceded in death by Rev. Floyd and Lorraine Beckstrand, Kenneth Aufenkamp and James Anderson.          

     In Lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Bible Legacy Fund through the New Life Assembly of God Church in Valley City.
