CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)Valley City School Superintendent Dean Koppelman says the interim fund balance for the district now stands at million dollars. But, he says enrollment in the district dropped by 3 students since his last report one month ago. Koppelman says a total of 24 students have left the school district since the beginning of the school year. He says that’s not good news being the new state funding formula is tied to a per pupil payment.
In other news the school board approved a project for a school security upgrade. Koppelman says the state provided $41,000 to make security improvements to school doors.
The Valley City School board also approved of the resignation of Head Boy’s basketball coach Scott Hurlimann and the letters of retirement for Jean Dyrness, Barb Bjorum and Becky Maasjo during their regular meeting on March 10.
