N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Marrow Donor Registry Drive will be held at the Anne Carlsen Center today from 1 to 7 PM for ages 18 to 44.

Josh Bond, a 27 year-old from Jamestown, is currently battling leukemia and needs a marrow donor for his marrow transplant as a cure. The drive is not to donate marrow, but to be registered to donate should the need arise. It’s very easy to become a potential donor for marrow. In order to become a donor, a registration sheet is filled out. Once that’s done, a swab of the inside of your cheek is taken. No blood or marrow is drawn. Blood restrictions that normally apply to donating do not matter.

Even if your marrow is not compatible with Josh, you will still be on the list as a potential donor for someone else. Registration is free.
