Ordahl, 79, of Milnor, ND died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Donald Arwood Ordahl, son of Arnie and Gladyce (Bolstad) Ordahl was born on May 4, 1934 at DeLamere, ND. He grew up and attended school in Milnor. On April 14, 1961 he married Sharon Dietzler, daughter of Clarence and Georgia (Gary) Dietzler at the Milnor Lutheran Church. They continued to live in Milnor where they raised their six children. He was also a part of the U.S. Army as an Honor Guard where he was stationed in Hawaii and California. Donald was very proud of his life and years in Milnor, and his biggest accomplishments were his family and his wife.

Donald enjoyed fishing at his lake cabin, playing cards, reading Louis L’Amour books, spending time with family, telling stories and talking, taking drives around to check highline poles, bragging about his grandkids, rocking babies, and helping others. He was an active and proud member of the Brotherhood of the Mason’s, the Milnor Lutheran Church, the church council, and the Milnor City Council.

Donnie was an amazing man who taught many people how to be a better person. He was a teacher in many ways. He was always willing to lend a hand, wave at everyone and always had a big smile on his face and a hug for everyone.
