CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The NDWS Women’s Division has been busy planning for another great year of events. The events will kick off on Tuesday, March 4 with the Country Hoedown in the National Guard Armory. Your admission of will provide you with a full day of entertainment, with performances by Slamabama, an opry and country music band from Minneapolis, Tim & Becky Hager, from Valley City and the Dan Brekke Band, from Moorhead.
Wednesday, March 5 is the Tasting Bee, also held at the National Guard Armory. This will run from 11 am to 1:30 pm and feature a variety of food samples for $.50 each, with no admission charge. Senior Dance Day will also be held on this day, at the Valley City Eagles Club. Admission will be $5 and will run from 10 am to 3 pm; music will be provided by Marv and the Moonlighters, of Mandan.
Thursday, March 6 then features the Antique Show and the Winter Show Luncheon. The Luncheon is at the Valley City Eagles Club, and is scheduled for 12:30 pm.
Enjoy a delicious lunch and be ready for some great entertainment, from Robby Vee and his band. Robby hails from one of popular music’s legacies, the “rock & roll family named after his father, Bobby Vee. They will play favorites from the 50’s and 60’s, including songs from Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Bobby Vee, Charlie Rich and more.
Tickets are $17 each, which includes lunch, and tickets can be pre-purchased from any Women’s Division member, or at the following area businesses: Quilted Ceiling, Valley Drug, NuCara Pharmacy, Central Ave. HealthMart Pharmacy, the VC Eagles Club or at the NDWS Office.
The Antique Show will be held in the National Guard Armory on Thursday, March 6 from 10 am to 6 pm, as well as Friday, March 7 during the same time. Admission will be $2 per person. Take a stroll through and reminisce about the treasures there!
Saturday, March 8 events include the My Trash, Your Treasure, at the City Auditorium, from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission to this event is also $2 per person and is perfect for all those who love garage sales.
A Junk Boutique ‘n More event, will also be Saturday, at the National Guard Armory. This event continues Sunday, March 9 as well and will feature restored home furnishings and custom creations, as well as crafts and unique gifts. Whether you are looking for something rustic, vintage or retro you are sure to find it there! Admission will be $2 per person and hours will be 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
Souvenirs will again be available for purchase at the National Guard Armory, or in the NDWS Event Center throughout the entire show; we hope you will enjoy the 77th annual North Dakota Winter Show March 4 through March 9.
