N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Flat Stanley has made his way to Jamestown, North Dakota.
The Flat Stanley Project was created in 1995 by a third grade schoolteacher in London. Based off of the 1964 book series by Jeff Brown, the project was created to facilitate letter writing by school children to make connections with other schools and communities. “Flat Stanleys” are created and then sent to exotic locations and guests are then asked to fill a journal with the Stanley to give more information about the destination.
The Flat Stanley that has made its way to Jamestown comes from a 4th grader from Westminster, MA. A letter accompanying Stanley wants him to go on some crazy North Dakota adventures and the Arts Center is looking for North Dakota artists to help. You can e-mail sjeppson@jamestownarts.com to receive a copy of Stanley and take a photograph of him with your artwork. All responses will be due by March 15th.
