Vernon Henne, 78, of Jamestown, ND died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Veteran’s Health Center, Fargo, ND due to complications from cancer. Vernon A. Henne was born on December 26, 1935, the son of Nathaniel and Frieda (Schulz) Henne. He graduated from Nortonville High School, and then entered the US Army in 1958. After he was discharged in 1960, Vernon married Teresa Schlosser on May 29, 1962 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND. They farmed near Nortonville for 2 years before making their home on the John Magrum farm for 8 years. They bought a farm near Nortonville where they made their home until they retired and moved to Jamestown. Vernon is survived by his wife, Teresa Henne, Jamestown; daughter, Nancy (Todd) Wegenast, Minot, ND; son, Allen (Mary Jo) Henne, Bismarck, ND; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Carlson, Aaron Henne, and Nathan Henne; 4 great-grandchildren, Natalie Conmy, Kaden Carlson, Kalen Carlson, and Koen Carlson; and brother, Harvey (Donna) Henne, Fargo. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Calvin and Alvin.

     Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown. Visitation: One hour before the service at the church. Interment: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
