Mary Jean Kartes (Rudnick), 66 of Jamestown, ND died on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 at home. Mary Jean was born on August 23, 1947 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Max and Margaret (Powell) Rudnick. She loved gardening and flowers. Mary is survived by her husband, John Kartes; three children Brock Kartes, his wife Lynette and daughter Alexis, Murrieta, CA; Clay Kartes, his fiancee Courtney and son Wyatt, West Fargo, ND; and Brandy Scherr and her husband Shawn, Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by her brothers Leo, Donald, Gerald, and Kenneth Rudnick; sisters, Marge Patterson, Leona Weisser, Linda Calkins and Diane Williams; and sister-in-law, Bernice Gumke. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph, Lewis and Robert Rudnick and sister, Evelyn Crowder.

     Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. James Basilica in Jamestown, ND, with Father Sean Mulligan officiating. Vigil: 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. Interment: Assumption Cemetery, Dickey, ND, in the spring.
