Sharon Lee Schuler was born on June 5, 1938 in Valley City, ND, the daughter of Leo and Pearl (Anundson) Schuler.  She attended elementary and high school at St. Catherine’s School, graduating in 1956. Sharon worked at various jobs in Valley City, where she met Harvey Peterson. They were married on September 16, 1966 and made their home in Valley City. Together they owned “Harv’s Welding” and Sharon was the bookkeeper until her recent health decline.  Sharon was a very passionate person in every aspect of her life and gave 100% of herself to her family and friends. Always there to lend a helping hand in any situation or celebrate any special occasion. She loved every family get together and was the life of the party. Her booming personality and big heart are qualities she instilled in us and will live on forever because of the wonderful memories she left us. Harvey was the center of her life, she was a good wife and they stood by each other throughout their 47 years together. Sharon had a love of crossword puzzles, it was not unusual to go visit her and she would be working on one. She was also an avid walker and would always greet you with a wave, a smile or stop and chat a bit.  Sharon also had fantastic organizational skills and would help plan family and school reunions and loved being in the middle of it all…”meeting and greeting”. Another passion in her life was her love of her country. She worked tirelessly with the VFW and their Auxiliary for many years, holding many offices and sharing her patriotism with so many people all over the United States. She was truly at home when speaking to a roomful of her “VFW Extended Family” and she had the voice to do it! Besides being a great aunt to her nieces and nephews, Sharon and Harvey were “second parents” to Shelley (Lerud) Larson and Michael Lerud, children of longtime friends and neighbors Sharon and Harvey Lerud. She loved them all so much.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Harvey of Valley City; siblings, Raymond Schuler and Linda Leick of Valley City, ND, Barbara (Dennis) Orner, Fargo, ND, Lois (Richard) Gulseth of Cheyenne, Wyoming and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Leo and Pearl Schuler, brothers; Myles “Tig” Anundson and Robert Schuler.

“Each happiness of yesterday is a memory for tomorrow. Always on our minds; forever in our hearts.”
