N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Past Chamber Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce have released the results of a summer survey sent out to local businesses leaders.

Roughly 40 business leaders were surveyed one-on-one with some surveys taking more than an hour to conduct. According to the report sent out, the purpose of the survey was to help the current Board of Directors prepare for a strategic planning process for future economic development in the area and to provide insight to the city’s planning purposes.

Three questions were asked in the survey asking about population growth priorities, if the city is focusing on the right goals and what role the Chamber needed to implement to help with changes.

President of the Past President Chamber Tim Burchill spoke on what they set out to do with the survey.

Results showed that the city needs to be more cooperative, quoting that the “City staff seems to be negative and make things unnecessarily complicated.” and “They discourage progress, especially if it makes more work for the city staff.”

A conclusion of all data compiled from the survey showed that the “City needs a more progressive attitude regarding growth and the role of government in providing infrastructure and services appropriate to growth in a planned and transparent manner.”
