Wayne Burdick, age 62 of Valley city died Friday Nov. 29th at his residence. Services will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday Dec. 5th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City with Rev. Dan Forsberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at Mandan, ND.
Wayne Allen Burdick was born July 19, 1951 in Fargo, ND the son of Gene and Dorie (Wical) Burdick. He grew up on a farm near Valley City and attended Valley City High School. He entered the US Army in 1968 and served two tours in Vietnam. Following his discharge he returned to Valley City and farmed and drove truck. He married Doreen Fleck in 1980 and they made their home on a farmstead north of Valley City. Wayne loved to hunt and fish and was well known for his taxidermy skills.
Wayne is survived by his wife Doreen, his mother Dorie Burdick, a sister Peggy (Randy) Koch, nieces and nephews, Naomi (Nathan), Natalie, and Joseph (Rachael), and great nieces and nephews, Zoey, Trenton, Jonah, and Jessa Jo. Also surviving are his mother-in-law Irma Fleck Turgut, brothers-in-law Elroy, Richard, Teddy, David, and Shawn Fleck, and special friends Tim and Lynn Hanson. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene and two brothers Gary and Kevin.
