N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Students began attending classes today at the new Barnes County North School near Leal. Superintendent Mark Lindahl says the centralized school will better serve students and the school district. Lindahl says the opening is two and a-half months late but it was worth the wait.
Lindahl says a grand opening of the new school will be held in January. The new $14.7 million school was constructed through a building authority after a school bond vote failed three times over a one year period back in 2011 when a super majority of 60 percent failed.
Construction work on the school continues. Superintendent Mark Lindahl says both gyms should be completed by January. All photos taken by Dana Drevecky.
