N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was on scene for a shop fire in Southeast Jamestown around 4:30 PM on Wednesday.
The fire, which occurred about two miles East of the Hillcrest Golf Course, was reportedly a shop on a property owned by Jim Madsen. The structure was completely engulfed by flames when all responding units arrived. No one was home when the fire started. Both Otter Tail Power and Montana-Dakota Utilities shut of electricity and gas on the property.
The shop was destroyed with damages estimated to be $50,000 excluding the contents of the shop. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol and Jamestown Police Department also responded.
