N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Authorities say charges are pending against 21-year-old William Smith of Valley City after he lost control of his pickup on a gravel road southeast of Wimbledon went into a ditch and rolled the vehicle injuring a woman on Wednesday.

Highway Patrol Captain Brian Niewind says rescue crews had to use the jaws-of-life to extricate 19-year-old Darian Krueger of Wimbledon from the vehicle. She was transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to a Fargo Hospital for treatment of her injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt. The driver, Smith wore a seat belt and was not injured in the crash on November 6.
