N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council voted to delay the start-up of the new water tower.

Recommendations from both City Engineer Reid Schwartzkopf and Interstate Engineering’s Travis Dillman moved the council to their decision.

The water tower would be ready to start up by December 1st, but it would be shut down after 4 months to be painted. Mayor Katie Anderson asked if that would affect the tower in anyway.

“It would not be detrimental to the workings of the tower.” said Travis Dillman. “But we recommend a one-time start up.”

The city voted unanimously to have the water tower start-up after it is painted. The estimated start-up time is July 15th, 2014.
