CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City has another new police officer, Andrew Eisenschenk a native of St. Cloud, Minnesota was sworn into office by Mayor Bob Werkhoeven on November 4 during a city commission meeting.

In October, another native of Minnesota, officer Major Hopp was sworn in as a new police officer for the city of Valley City.

Police Chief Fred Thompson says his department will be fully staffed by the end of the year after the hire one more police officer. He says over the last 16 months the city has hired five new police officers. Several veteran police officers have retired and others moved on to work for other law enforcement agencies.
