ROCKFORD (NewsDakota.com) A total of three games will be played tonight at New Rockford High School starting at 4pm. The first two games will be region qualifiers, the last one will be for the District 7 Championship. All games can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com starting about 3:40pm pregame.
Here are last Friday’s semi-final results:
No. 1 Lakota/Edmore beat No. 4 New Rockford/Sheyenne 3-1 (25-14, 25-21, 22-25, 25-15)
Lakota/Edmore improved to 22-7 on the year and will advance to the District 7 Championship game tonight as they beat the host team New Rockford/Sheyenne in four sets. The Rockets drop to 15-17. Lakota/Edmore served 96%, Fallyn Freije had nine aces, five blocks and 14 kills. Shaye Ronningen had 23 digs and 19 kills.
Marissa Duchscherer of New Rockford/Sheyenne had 18 assists and 20 digs. Lacey Grann had three aces and eight kills. Ashley Ystaas had 24 digs.
No. 3 Harvey/Wells County beat No. 2 Carrington 3-1 (25-22, 14-25, 26-24, 25-20)
The first upset of the District 7 Tourney had the Hornets beat the Cardinals 3-1. Carrington served 93%, Harvey/Wells County served 97%. The Hornets improve to 23-7 overall, the Cardinals drop to 25-7 overall.
Brooke Rosenau had 42 assists for the Cardinal setters, Madison Wendel had 13 digs, five aces and 17 kills. Kayla Hochhalter had 13 digs and 18 kills.
Kara Fike of Harvey/Wells County had 25 digs, Sarah Davis had 14 kills and Kali Weinmann had 10 kills.

Region Qualifier: No. 4 New Rockford/Sheyenne (15-17) VS No. 6 Benson County (11-18) – 4pm
Region Qualifier: No. 2 Carrington (25-7) VS No. 5 Midkota/Kensal (9-22) – 20 min after
Championship: No. 1 Lakota/Edmore (22-7) VS No. 3 Harvey/Wells County (23-7) – 20 min after
The winners of the first two games and both teams in the championship automatically qualify for the Region 4 tourney in Devils Lake, starts on Monday, November 11th and continues the 12th and 14th. District 7 will meet District 8 in the Region 4 tournament. District 8 teams that have already qualified – Rolla, Rolette/Wolford, Langdon and North Star.
