ROCKFORD (NewsDakota.com)  The District 7 High School Volleyball Tournament started last night with New Rockford/Sheyenne against Midkota/Kensal, followed by Harvey/Wells County against Benson County.  Here are the results:

No. 4 New Rockford/Sheyenne over No. 5 Midkota/Kensal 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-10, 25-18).  The Rockets improve to 15-16 overall, The Mustangs drop to 9-22. 

Lacey Grann of New Rockford/Sheyenne had 12 kills and six blocks, Marissa Duchscherer had 23 assists and four aces. 

Brooke Ronningen of Midkota/Kensal had 24 digs and seven kills.  Saddie Harding had 12 assists and seven kills. 

No. 3 Harvey/Wells County over No. 6 Benson County 3-1 (25-23, 25-9, 24-26, 25-18).  The Hornets improve to 22-7, the Wildcats drop to 11-18.

Kara Fike of Harvey/Wells County had 16 digs and 13 kills.  Nicole Erickson had four blocks and five aces.

Courtney Bubach of Benson County had 19 digs and three aces.  Andrea Jorgenson had 14 kills.
