(NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinals traveled to Rolla to take on the Cougars of North Prairie last Saturday afternoon in the first round of the Class 1A High School Football Playoffs.  The Cardinals came up short 22-7.  Carrington ends their season at 6-3 overall, North Prairie improves to 8-2 and will move on to play Milnor/North Sargent this Saturday. 

Carrington struck first on their second possession as quarterback Brady Smith would run it in from 2-yards on the keeper with 3:52 left in the first quarter.  Later, Smith would break his collarbone.  North Prairie would score in the second quarter and get the two-point conversion to take a 8-7 lead at the half.

North Prairie took control of the second half scoring in the third and fourth quarters.  After scoring in the fourth quarter, North Prairie would recover an onside kick to put the game away.
